• UM SRH Names Tyson Werner Director of Supply Chain and Logistics



    University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH), a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System, is pleased to announce the promotion of Tyson Werner, PMP to Director of Supply Chain and Logistics.

    Werner brings a strong track record of operational leadership, financial stewardship and supply chain optimization to his new role. He has been serving as Interim Director of Materials Management, where he led procurement, distribution and inventory management across UM SRH’s hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. During this time, he implemented key process improvements to enhance reliability, reduce waste and support patient safety.

    In his new position, Werner will continue to oversee all aspects of materials management. His leadership will be instrumental in advancing system-wide initiatives that align financial performance with patient-centered care.

    “Tyson has consistently demonstrated an ability to drive meaningful results while building strong partnerships with clinical and operational teams,” said Paul Nicholson, Senior Vice President, Finance. “His expertise in data-driven decision-making, combined with his commitment to quality and efficiency, makes him exceptionally well-suited to lead our supply chain and logistics team.”

    Prior to his interim role, Werner served as Perioperative Services Business Manager at UM SRH, where he managed more than $50 million in operations and led initiatives that resulted in over $10 million in cost savings. His work focused on improving case cost performance, optimizing staffing models, and enhancing access to care through strategic transitions to outpatient services.

    Werner holds a Master of Health Administration from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management from Excelsior College in Albany, New York, and is a Licensed Practical Nurse.
