Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce.

Dorchester County is truly one of the most remarkable places in Maryland. With a history that runs deep and a waterfront that inspires, we are home to a business community that is creative, entrepreneurial, and genuinely committed to mutual success. Founded in 1921, the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce remains the community’s oldest, largest, and most effective business advocate.

I encourage you to explore all that Dorchester has to offer. From our agriculture and seafood industries, to manufacturing, tourism, health care and emerging technologies, to our spectacular natural resources and our world class hunting and fishing, we work closely with our local businesses and entrepreneurs, nonprofit and faith organizations, and all levels of government on issues that affect our members to create a strong business support system for both long-standing businesses and those just getting started.

We work tirelessly to realize a vision for a strong, sustainable, and inclusive community.

For our members, that means:

• Visibility: Being an accessible leader, a voice for your needs, and a driver for business.
• Growth: Helping members learn, grow, and navigate the modern economy.
• Connection: Hosting signature community events – like our Ice and Oyster Festival, Cambridge Powerboat Classic Regatta, or the Chamber’s Annual Dinner – as well as Business After Hours, Ribbon Cuttings, and educational seminars for our members to celebrate, learn, and network together.

I believe entrepreneurs are optimists at their core. To start a business, to take a risk, to build something from nothing, you have to believe that tomorrow can be better than today. The spirit of this Chamber and of the Dorchester community is built on exactly that kind of optimism.
