• The Delmarva Shorebirds Announce Their New Special Event Opportunities

The Delmarva Shorebirds are excited to announce their expanded options for non-gameday events. The Shorebirds have completed construction on their all-new Performance Center, an indoor turf area that is available to host practices, birthday parties, clinics, and, due to its large open-concept, large events and expos. The Shorebirds have also created a new non-gameday events menu with breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and beverages. This new menu is available for non-gameday events held in the Executive Club, or large events using the entire stadium.

The Shorebirds’ major recent renovations have reignited the goal of providing more than just baseball to the Delmarva Community. The Shorebirds Performance Center now offers local youth teams an opportunity to continue practice throughout the winter, as well as providing a professional caliber facility to teams throughout the region for their practices. The Performance Center is not exclusive to baseball either, as the retractable nets allow for practices for any sport that uses turf, including soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse. It is also available for birthday parties or company events.

To strengthen the organization’s commitment to expanding its offerings, the Shorebirds also created a new non-gameday events menu. This menu provides high quality, professionally catered options for events held during the offseason or while the team is away. This menu is available for events involving the Executive Club, which is the premier indoor area at Perdue Stadium. The Executive Club can host company parties, banquets, trainings, presentations, luncheons, and more. Events that use the whole stadium can also use the non-gameday events menu, such as corporate outings like softball games, kickball games, and home run derbies.

“We wanted to make Perdue Stadium a destination throughout the year, not just during baseball season,” explained Shorebirds General Manager Chris Bitters. “Our new renovations give us the opportunity to expand our offerings to the Delmarva community, which we are working hard to do.”

To help facilitate this process, the Shorebirds hired Matthew Roman as their new Special Events Coordinator. Roman has a bachelor’s degree in communications and has previously worked for the Frederick Keys and Baltimore Orioles. Roman will handle events held at the stadium, including both Shorebirds events and rentals from other organizations.
