• Cambridge-South Dorchester High School Student Savannah Weber Named to Junior Achievement’s “18 Under 18” 2026 Cohort

      


    CAMBRIDGE, Md.  —  Savannah Weber, 17, a student at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, has been named to the 2026 Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore “18 Under 18” cohort. This selective program recognizes local, top young leaders for innovation, service, and academic achievement.

    Weber’s work is defined by her innovative community leadership and dedication to service. As the current President of the Interact Club, she has been instrumental in organizing high-impact projects, including a Hurricane Relief Drive that collected essential supplies for victims of Hurricane Helene and a "Break the Silence Stop the Violence" poster contest to foster school positivity. Her most recent initiative provided personalized cards and holiday gifts to residents in two Cambridge nursing homes, reflecting her commitment to building intergenerational connections.

    A visible leader within her school, Weber serves as the Treasurer for the Student Government Association (SGA), having previously served two years as Vice-President, and is the President of SkillsUSA. She is a member of both the National Honor Society and the National Arts Honor Society, all while balancing championship-level athletics and a part-time job

    .Academically, Weber maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA while pursuing a challenging curriculum of Advanced Placement, honors, and dual-enrollment courses through Chesapeake College. Her nominators highlight her growth as a confident public speaker and her ability to listen to others' ideas to encourage their involvement in community service.

    “Savannah has consistently demonstrated a rare blend of kindness, diligence, and passion,” said Michael Tremper, Interact Club Advisor and teacher. “Balancing a rigorous academic schedule... she has shown an extraordinary ability to manage responsibilities with grace and integrity.” Nominator George Reed added that she is an "energetic" leader who makes others "feel important" while working toward a common goal.

    Weber plans to continue her journey as a leader and changemaker, using her skills in strategic thinking and adaptability to solve challenges and serve the Dorchester County community.

    The Cambridge-South Dorchester school community and the public are invited to celebrate Weber’s achievements at the Junior Achievement of the Eastern Shore “18 Under 18” Awards Ceremony on May 18, 2026, at  5 p.m. at the Junior Achievement Center in Salisbury. The event will recognize her and 17 other incredible student leaders from across the region.
