• Responsible Fathers Initiative Receives Generous Grant From George B. Todd Fund

The Responsible Fathers Initiative (RFI) recently received generous financial support for its fatherhood and youth programming in Cambridge from the George B. Todd Fund.

RFI is a progressive and wide-ranging initiative that serves custodial and non-custodial fathers on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.  Founder and Lead Facilitator Corey Pack started the program with the mission of empowering fathers to become more responsible, accountable, and engaged active participants in the lives of their children.

Responsible Fathers offers weekly 24/7 Dad classes at the Neighborhood Service Center in Easton and Delmarva Community Services in Cambridge and bi-weekly Inside Out Dad workshops at the Talbot County Detention Center.  In addition to working directly with fathers, RFI hosts an Understanding Dad for Moms course for incarcerated mothers - also at the Talbot County Detention Center - and offers after-school youth programming for students at Mace’s Lane Middle School in Cambridge.

RFI – along with several of its programming partners - is also planning its first ever Eastern Shore Fatherhood and Reentry Conference, which is to take place on October 17th at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Intergenerational Center in Cambridge.  This valuable donation from the Todd Fund supports the Cambridge fatherhood and youth programming as well as the upcoming conference.

“We are honored to have received this generous grant,” says Pack.  “It means a lot to have the opportunity to help fulfill Mr. Todd’s vision by promoting responsible and nurturing fathers and healthy families in Dorchester County.”
