SEAFORD, Del. — Kathryn Fiddler, DNP, MBA, MSN, RN, FNAP, will soon assume an expanded leadership role as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer of TidalHealth Nanticoke.
Fiddler has served as TidalHealth’s vice president of population health since early 2018. She will retain that system-level role, which includes responsibility for population health and case management, when she begins her new position Aug. 3.
“I am honored to take on this expanded role and excited about the opportunity to continue our mission-driven work to improve the health of the communities we serve,” Fiddler said. “By aligning patient care services and population health efforts, we can better coordinate care, respond more effectively to community needs and continue building a healthier future for Sussex County and the entire Lower Eastern Shore.”
Fiddler has been with TidalHealth for the past decade and is a retired major in the United States Air Force.
She looks forward to strengthening patient care at TidalHealth Nanticoke while collaborating with teams across the health system to provide seamless, patient-centered care.
Fiddler is a third-generation nurse who has lived on the Shore for more than 30 years. In that time, she’s seen the area experience both challenges and resilience.
“From my early days as an emergency department nurse to my current role in population health, my purpose has been simple: helping people access the care they need, achieve better health and care for those they love,” Fiddler said. “Knowing the work of our teams improves lives, strengthens families and makes our community better is what inspires me every day.”
Fiddler will report to Chief Nurse Executive & Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services Angie Brittingham, DNP, MBA, RN, CEN, CPEN, NEA-BC, CPHQ.
“Having Dr. Fiddler at TidalHealth Nanticoke as the chief nursing officer will strengthen the support of the patient care services team in that location, while continuing to work closely and align with the larger health system,” Brittingham said. “The bonus is that she is going to continue reaching our population health efforts further into Sussex County as well. Connecting population health and patient care services will allow for a more seamless approach to caring for our community.”
