• CRAWFISH BOIL & MUSKRAT LEG EATING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HAS “CULT” FOLLOWING


    The Annual Crawfish Boil & Muskrat Leg Eating World Championship brings muskrats, crawfish, blues music, and fun to Cult Classic Brewing Company in Stevensville, MD on Saturday, February 17th from Noon to 6 p.m.  “We’re psyched to be hosting the 14th Annual Crawfish Boil and Muskrat Leg Eating World Championship.  It’s a perfect partnership of the weird and wonderful things we love about where we live and the crazy creativity of our neighbors.” Said Rohry Flood of Cult Classic fame.   The fan-favorite Muskrat Leg Eating World Championship welcomes any aspiring or established competitive eaters confident enough to tackle this unique Eastern Shore specialty.

    “If you are looking for a good place to have fun, this festival is the place,” said defending world champion Chunky Hesson. “I’m looking forward to retaining my championship as an elite muskrat leg eater!”

    The competition kicks off at 5p.m. with contestants competing to see who can eat the most muskrat legs. Registration will be open day of the festival at the t-shirt tent.

    The musical entertainment kicks off at noon with local favorite “Hit Man” Eddie Hitt bringing his Bloody Mary’s & Karaoke noon till 2pm.  Then DC Blues Legend, Jimmy Cole (JB Hutto) will bring his “Delmarva All-Stars” to the stage 2pm till 5pm.  Ron Holloway (Gov’t Mule, Dizzy Gillespie) on tenor sax, the amazing Sam Paladino on the Hammond Organ, George Sheppard (Frank Sinatra, Frank Zappa) on drums, Bryan Smith (Tennessee Rockets, Billy Hancock) on bass and Jimmy Stepanson (Blue Dogs) on lead guitar. 

    Palm Beach Willies (Taylors Island, MD) will be preparing muskrat in multiple ways in addition to other choices for those not so adventurous. And, of course, Crawfish from Louisiana! Craft vendors will also be on hand again for the event this year. This is a family friendly event.

    Admission is $10 and supports multiple local charity organizations.

    “We’ve crafted a unique event that still manages to be authentic to Eastern Shore living,” says event organizer Keith Graffius. “. This is a great opportunity to experience the best of it – food, drink, music and a family-friendly atmosphere.”
