Good Friday “Walk of the Cross”
The Dorchester Faith Alliance is sponsoring the “Walk of the Cross” on Good Friday, April 19, 2019, from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M., in Cambridge. The Walk is patterned after the liturgy for the “Stations of the Cross.” A brief, ten minute liturgy will be conducted at each of the seven churches we will stop at along the walk route, with clergy and laity from various churches participating.
This year’s route will include the following churches:
St Luke's United Methodist Church, 712 Bradley Avenue
Refuge Temple Church of God, High and Robbins Streets
Cambridge Wesleyan Church, Race and Washington Streets
Bethel A. M. E. Church, 623 Pine St
Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church, 425 High St
Grace United Methodist Church, Race and Muir Streets
Christ Episcopal Church, 215 High St
The Walk of the Cross is intended to be an opportunity for spiritual renewal - a meditative, reflective observance, as we walk from stop to stop. Along the walk route, various persons will have opportunity to carry the cross part of the way. All seven church locations are accessible, and bus transportation will be available for those needing/desiring it.
