The Eastern Shore Hospital Center Auxiliary’s Great Chesapeake Bay Wellness Race & Family Walk has been one of the premier destination races in the Mid-Atlantic since our inaugural event in 2003.
As major sponsors, The Eastern Shore Hospital Center Auxiliary (ESHC); The Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Resort; Dorchester Lodge #223 IBPO Elks of the World and Different Drummer Farm – Sharon Borg Wall are recognizing May as National Mental Health Month by supporting The Great Chesapeake Bay Wellness Race, Family Walk and Armed Forces Day Stroller Roll contest on Saturday, May 18, 2019. This event will directly benefit patients of the ESHC. We welcome back retired Adjutant General James Adkins to say a few words about the importance of Armed Forces Day. It is being held on the beautiful River Marsh Golf Course with registration at 7:00 A.M. and the race starting at 8:00 A.M. Entry fee is $30.00 for advance registration and $35.00 on Race Day. Entry fee includes race tee shirt, refreshments, awards, door prizes and delicious post-event breakfast. There is no charge for children of participants ages 12 and under.
To register, become a sponsor, volunteer, or just ask questions about the Wellness Race, contact ESHC Volunteer Services at 410-221-2358, or firstname.lastname@example.org. All proceeds will be donated to the ESHC Auxiliary, a totally volunteer 501(c)3 organization, whose sole purpose is to benefit the residents of the hospital.
Based in one of the oldest historic waterfront towns on the Chesapeake, participants will be treated to beautiful water views of the Choptank River, a breathtaking hotel community and tranquil 1 Mile walk, 5K run or an awesome 10K chip timed race on a magnificent golf course all culminating at the finish with a delicious buffet breakfast and awards ceremony. In addition to the run/walk events, there will be door prizes. ‘Proven Winners’-patient-grown Plant Sale and a Stress Reduction Educational Awareness booth. This is a great annual tradition where friends, families and running groups come together to celebrate personal achievement and good mental health!
