The Dorchester Skipjack Committee is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization which preserves, promotes and operates the Nathan of Dorchester. The Nathan is the last authentic skipjack built on the Bay. For 25 years, she has provided a unique on-the-water experience for over a thousand passengers per year. Visitors from all over the world have enjoyed sailing and learning about the maritime history of the community as well the ecology of the bay and the impact of the oyster industry. As a volunteer organization, the Nathan offers opportunities to learn to sail this historic boat; assist with wooden boat repair; help schedule and greet passengers; educate passengers on board; and work on administrative/computer projects. Come to a session, expand your knowledge and see if this might be for you. The Nathan of Dorchester: sailing strong for 25 years!
