• Mid-Shore Community Foundation Launches Mid-Shore Connect: Expanded Training and Networking for Nonprofit Organizations

    In response to the evolving needs of the local nonprofit community, Mid-Shore Community Foundation has announced a significant expansion of its events and offerings through its program, Mid-Shore Connect. The offerings which are designed to build practical skills and foster collaboration, blend expert instruction with peer connection - bringing nonprofits and community leaders together for learning, leadership, and collaboration. 

    “We are excited to expand our offerings and provide more opportunities for our nonprofit community to connect,” said Buck Duncan, President of the Mid-Shore Community Foundation. “We conducted a survey and asked local organizations what they needed and wanted, and we are proud to turn that feedback into action.” 

    The newly expanded schedule includes a mix of in-person workshops, webinars, and events.

    The schedule launches February 27 with a Grant Writing Workshop led by Lili Leonard of Black Dog Philanthropic Consulting.

    On March 25, Tom Ahern - internationally renowned, best-selling author, and expert in applying psychology and neuroscience to donor communications - will lead a webinar on how to supercharge nonprofit communications. On June 24, he will return to teach attendees how to craft a compelling case for support to inspire giving.

    The Foundation has partnered with the Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce to present Coffee and Connections - a networking opportunity on April 21. 

    On May 6, Fred Christie, Chief Information Officer at Easton Utilities, will present a webinar on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity as it relates to nonprofit organizations.

    The Foundation has partnered with Shore Leadership to present a July 21 session on nonprofit leadership featuring Dr. Joe Thomas, Director of the VADM James B. Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership at the U.S. Naval Academy. A retired Marine, Dr. Thomas has held senior leadership education roles at the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Leadership Institute, and Marine Corps University, and he has authored five books on leadership and ethics. 

    Rob Levit, a familiar favorite and Licensed Consultant with Maryland Nonprofits’ Standards for Excellence Institute®, will lead two in-person sessions this fall: Developing Resources for Nonprofit Excellence on September 25, and Defining the Path to Nonprofit Impact on October 16.

    The schedule concludes with Mid-Shore Gives, the annual online Giving Day for local nonprofits, on Tuesday, December 1.
