Founded in 1921 the Dorchester Chamber of Commerce is the community's oldest, largest and most effective business advocate. The Chamber membership represents all sectors of business and community activity found in the heart of Chesapeake Country. The 17-member Board of Directors and staff work tirelessly on behalf of the membership and the community to realize the vision for “a strong, sustainable, vibrant, and inclusive community”.  The Chamber partners with key organizations like Dorchester County Economic Development and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to provide services to members and the business community as a whole.  These working partnerships provide a strong business support system for existing and new businesses within the County.

The team at the Chamber is dedicated to providing the highest level of service to our members and the Dorchester community. We are driven by an unwavering commitment to our Mission: “To advance Dorchester County through educating, promoting and nurturing a strong, resilient business community.”   We work closely with all levels of government on issues that affect our members.  The Chamber's Government Affairs Committee takes a proactive approach to the challenges that could positively or negatively affect the viability of businesses in our community.  We work hard to provide thoughtful and actionable responses to issues that arise at the local, state and federal level.

We want to be known as the connector of choice for our membership.  We know how important it is to be networked within our community and making connections among our diverse membership is key to our continued growth.  Our wide variety of events are one way to make connections happen and they include ribbon cuttings, business after hours, education sessions, business lunches, signature events and more.  These events bring hundreds of business and industry leaders as well as government officials together to provide a forum for you to strengthen and grow your business.
