• Governor Moore Visits Dorchester County

Dorchester County proudly welcomed Governor Wes Moore to the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center on Tuesday, February 14th where he announced the discovery of a home where enslaved people lived on the Thompson Farm, the birthplace of Harriet Tubman. Dorchester County is proud to be the birthplace of Harriet Tubman and is excited that this sacred ground has been discovered along with many artifacts which will be preserved as a piece of history for future generations. The exhibit opened in 2017 and has welcomed 350,000 guests from around the world. Please join us in honoring the famed abolitionist by visiting the exhibit to explore these important pieces of County history.
