IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman Cambridge, Maryland
Hosted by one of the country's oldest colonial towns, this race will wind you through history. You might even spot a bald eagle or a rare white-tailed Sika deer.
Watch the excitement as triathletes from all over the world take on a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike, and 13.1-mile run on Sunday, June 9, 2019 in Dorchester County, Maryland. The triathletes swim 1.2 miles in the waters of the Choptank, cycle 56 miles through the stunning Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, and run 13.1 miles through the streets of the town -- 70.3 miles in all.
Most of the action happens at Cambridge's Great Marsh Park (where the race begins and finishes, and where athletes transition from swim to bike and from bike to run). Great Marsh Park is located at the end of Somerset Avenue, on the banks of the Choptank River. Dorchester County is one of the few communities to host two official IRONMAN events each year; the other is IRONMAN Maryland, a 140.6-mile full triathlon in the fall.
The event needs volunteers. Learn how you can get involved.
Get more involved and be a part of the excitement by joining the booster club, IRONClub Maryland.
The 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman will offer 40 qualifying slots to the 2020 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship in Taupō, New Zealand.
