The Dorchester County Council agreed to the observance of Halloween by County residents for children ages 12 and under on October 31, 2020 from 6-8 p.m., which policy does not supersede prescheduled times and dates set by municipalities. unless residents living outside of town limits carry their child/children into a town, they are to follow this policy. The council encouraged citizens to follow CDC guidelines.
City of Cambridge is also going by these guidelines.
Town of Hurlock: "The Hurlock town council arrived at the conclusion that it would not endorse Halloween, that being not for, but also not against. It should be an individual decision that if a home owner wants to distribute candy, then they should turn an outside light on which would indicate to parents and children that you are in fact handing out candy. If a house doesn't have a light on, move on to the next. If you feel the need to walk and go door to door then by all means do so safely. All we ask is that all CDC Guidelines are carried out, masks, distancing and sanitizing and its done by previous years time schedule of 6-8pm. Police will be on duty looking out for your safety."
