MEMBERSHIP BUSINESS DIRECTORY
The Business Guide and Membership Directory is another free service to our members. Members receive two free listings in the members' business directory, by Category and by Business Name. The Chamber distributes thousands of copies to encourage trade with our members and introduce newcomers to Dorchester County . Advertising is available at extremely reasonable rates.
MAILING SERVICE
Flyers promoting your business products or services are mailed monthly with the
Chambernews newsletter when you provide us with the flyers four times a year.
A current membership printed label collection is available to members at a minimal charge.
Members may also mail under the Chamber’s bulk mail permit, saving the annual fee.
A current email list of all members is available to each Chamber Member, please contact the office for this service at no charge to you.
EVENT BANNER
A Chamber Event Banner is available to advertise community events sponsored by member businesses and organizations. A nominal fee is charged for lettering and set-up and take-down expenses.
A VOICE IN LEGISLATION
The Chamber is you and the business community. Through the united front of the Chamber, you, as a small business, can have a big voice in government. The Dorchester Chamber is represented on the Board of Directors of the State Chamber.
REFERRAL SERVICE
Hundreds of inquiries concerning area businesses are received by the Chamber each month. Inquiries are referred to Chamber members before non-members. General information is available including the Business Guide and Membership Directory, Dorchester County map, and brochures.Callers receive an email list of businesses that match his/her needs immediately. Each member on the list will receive an email on the information obtained from the caller for follow-up.
CLEARING HOUSE
The Chamber serves as a clearing house for consumer concerns and questions. We communicate via newsletter, networking newspaper column and radio spots - You will be kept informed on pertinent topics and what's happening at the Chamber through the monthly newsletter, "Dorchester ChamberNews", the local newspapers’ Chamber news column, "Networking", and the “The Chamber Minutes” on weekly radio spots on WCEM-AM, WCEM-FM and WAAI-FM.
MEETING / TRAINING ROOM
The Chamber can provide a conference room, for in-house meetings or training sessions. Equipment available includes tables and chairs for 20, VCR, and podium. Services available at no cost to members. Advance notice is required.
RIBBON CUTTING SERVICE
The Chamber provides ribbon-cutting service that includes coverage in the “Dorchester ChamberNews” in addition to a write-up in the month newspaper column. There is no charge to members. Advance notice is required. The Chamber sends invitations electronically to ALL Chamber members, all City and County Council members The Daily Banner, the Dorchester Star and the Star Democrat to attend your special ribbon cutting event!
PUBLICATION CLEARING HOUSE
The Chamber maintains a supply of brochures, and booklets provided by members, and makes them available to walk-in traffic from the marina, bus groups, the city dock, and foot traffic. Simply deliver a supply of brochures and/or business cards to the Chamber office and they are prominately displayed in our entrance area.
A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE BUSINESS EXPENSE
All of this and more is yours when you join the Chamber. Chamber dues and related expenses are a tax deductible business expense.
