The Speaker at September's Dorchester Chamber Business Luncheon was urban planner Christopher Jakubiak, AICP,
and was held at the Cambridge Yacht Club.  He is the lead consultant to the City on the drafting of the Comprehensive Plan that is underway.

The Comprehensive Plan is a twenty year guide to the development of the City.  It establishes long term policies on all matters of growth, development, and conservation.  Many of the draft Plan's recommendations have a bearing on business in our community; from improving traffic flow on Rt. 50 to adopting incentives for development in and around downtown.

Following his presentation on the draft plan Mr. Jakubiak answered questions.  The Cambridge Planning Commission has held a public hearing on a draft Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Commission has received many comments and is now deliberating on revisions to the draft plan in preparation for another public meeting later this November.   To learn/read all about the Comprehensive plan go to www.dorchesterchamber.org and click on "Comprehensive Plan"
